Here are two of my latest #SolForge 4-0 draft decks. I’m digging Tempys right now!

SolForge – Elite Tournaments – Draft

This weekend was the second round of Elite Tournaments and featured draft. I missed the constructed event by one elite ticket mostly due to my decline in SolForge activity. That being said this event was fun for me. I’ve been slowly sneaking in more drafts than usual lately and usually go 3-1 with an occasional 4-0. I was expecting to get at least four wins and get a legendary chest, but I ended up going 5-1 losing one match to some bad plays and unlucky draws. It was refreshing to play in a tournament that was more than four rounds. Best of luck in your games. Here’s the capture of the 5-1 draft list. I tend to draft heavy Tempys lately in most of my drafts which is a huge swing from always drafting Nekrium and Uterra before the latest set.

While 500,000 silver is nice, having some kind of pack to open after 5 wins would be nice as well.

Weekend SolForge Drafting

It’s been a long time since I have been able to draft more than once every few days. This weekend I was able to make it through quite a few drafts, grabbing 8 gold packs, and 2 platinum packs along the way. Having most of my success with Alloyin and Nekrium combinations. This post is a quick one, mostly giving you the two decklists that went 4-0 on Saturday, a first pick poll, and some fun Scrapforge Titan mayhem. Enjoy!

What would your first pick be from these choices?

4.4c

I went with the Battle Techtician here for the universal buff to all my other creatures. I think the Grimgaunt Predator is top notch, but the removal is limited in the draft format.  I’ve tended to veer away from the Uterra faction, mostly because I don’t have much success with them. Alloyin has always been my faction of choice. This draft was solid across the board. I chose creatures that level up great as the game progresses and took some risks with Alpha and Colossus, having snagged a copy of Jet Pack early. Here’s the draft list from my first 4-0 of the weekend.

4.4aMy next 4-0 draft was similar, but I picked an early Tarsus Deathweaver and made a few picks to combo with. You’ll see many of the same creatures in both drafts: Warcharger, Xithian Hulk, Blight Walker, Vault Technician, and Fleshfiend. I typically do not skip picking these cards because they are good at level 2, although Blight Walker is situational. Here’s a copy of the draft list.

My next few screenshots were an amazingly lucky series of turns, featuring out of control Scrapforge Titans thanks to Jet Pack, Cypien Battlesuit (Amazing!), and Feral Instinct. Went 3-1 with this draft and it was a blast.

SolForge – Free to Play Update – Six Months Later

Previously, I gave a small blurb about my free to play account here. At the time, I only had two legendary cards and a few heroics. I’ve made it a point to log in daily and get my rewards and draft every time I get up to seven tickets. I’ll admit I have had some success drafting and have benefited from those extra premium packs. That’s the beauty of SolForge. Play well and get rewarded and you don’t have to spend a dime!

My Legendaries

Image

43 if I can add

43 Legendaries isn’t too bad. For the heroics, I am just a few cards shy of having at least three of each card. To complete my heroic set I need the following:

2x Runegrove Guardian

1x Lifeblood Dryad

1x Omnomnom

1x Master of Elements

Only five cards away from getting that full set. With forging right around the corner I’ll be able to pick those up fairly easily. All commons and rares have well over 3 copies each and will get fed into the forge to fuel future drafts and legendary card purchases. Drafting has really helped fill out this account and I can build a relatively competitive NT deck. While missing quite a few legendaries I should be able to grab a few more copies of needed copies. I’ve got an eye out for Thundersaur since my “Growbots” is looking close to being built.

Some fun numbers:

45x Forgeplate Sentry

43x Grove Huntress

43x Lightshield Patrol

42x Sparkblade Assassin

42x Matrix Warden

42x Vault Technician

40x Enrage

I obviously draft Alloyin and Uterra all the time as my previous draft posts illustrate. Check them out for lists!

All of my draft posts can be found on this page

If you’re hesitant to try SolForge now is the time to check it out. A new set is weeks away with an all new forging system that will help you get the cards you want without spending any money. The community is awesome and hosts tournaments almost on a weekly basis. There was a qualifier this past weekend as well as a sealed event tournament. If larger tournaments aren’t your thing the client has 3 round constructed or draft tournaments that can be completed at your convenience.

Give it a go!

Drafting SolForge – Alloyin and Uterra – Getting that 3-0 03/07/2014

Been a week or so since my last SolForge draft list. There’s been a lot going on at home and Diablo 3 released a patch! This one is a short one and I’ll get right to the list.

The List:

1 x Frostwild Tracker
1 x Gemhide Basher
1 x Cadaverous Thicket
1 x Lightbringer Cleric
1 x Oxidon Spitter
1 x Grove Matriarch
1 x Glowstride Stag
1 x Swampmoss Lurker
1 x Grove Huntress
1 x Enrage
1 x Fangwood Ravager
1 x Hunting Pack
1 x Deepwood Bear Rider
2 x Strength in Numbers
2 x Munitions Drone
1 x Tower Vanguard
2 x Technosmith
1 x Nexus Core
1 x Forge Guardian Alpha
2 x Forgeplate Sentry
1 x Matrix Warden
1 x Nexus Pilot
1 x Sparkblade Assassin
1 x Heavy Artillery
2 x Vault Technician

26 Creatures and 4 Spells

I was finally able to get my card ratio back in line where I like it to be. The past week I drafted about 8-10 spells and had several 2-1 and 1-2 days. On average, I get about 1 to 2 drafts in a day between my two accounts. My primary reason to keep that “Freebie” account going is for the extra draft experience. It’s a good way to get some practice in with ‘silver’ tickets instead of using gold tickets. That is how January was spent for me. Waiting for that account to get to ticket #7 and firing off a draft because in December, I was dumping money into my other account and losing over and over. I took a step back, read some articles, and watched people stream their drafts. Slowly the wins started coming in and now I’m sitting comfortably on my main account with over 50 tickets trying to save them to draft when set two is released later this month.

I have the usual heavy late game traders present in this draft and focused on leveling those cards. I breezed through this draft not really paying much attention to my key players, but I draft these two factions all the time. I was dissapointed at the end when I noticed that I had not picked Jet Pack for my Alpha or Nexus Core. That option was available at least 3 times in the draft and had I been paying closer attention may have realized I didn’t draft one.

I tried some cards here that I usually don’t pick up. Technosmith and Heavy Artillery. The smith helped out in a few games pinging away the final 2 points of damage on a creature and leveling an additional card. That artillery is nice once you level it and I snagged a close match by buffing one of my seedlings from the Matriarch that went unblocked.

Until next draft..

SolForge Draft 3-0 Draft Lists 03/02/2014

Posts were pretty slow this past week. We had a busy week with our twins and family visited this weekend and installed cabinets for us! I did manage to have quite a few 3-0 drafts this week, but did not have the time to record the decks. I do have two lists today for you to check out.

The List:

1 x Scrapforge Titan
1 x Cypien Augmentation
1 x Tower Vanguard
1 x Matrix Warden
1 x Nexus Pilot
1 x Sparkblade Assassin
1 x Metamind Adept
3 x Ionic Warcharger
1 x Aegis Pulse
1 x Aerial Surge
3 x Flameshaper Savant
2 x Windcaller Shaman
1 x Aquatic Embrace
1 x Wind Primordial
1 x Water Walker
1 x Glacial Colossus
2 x Nargath Bruiser
1 x Rimehorn Charger
1 x Flame Speaker
2 x Stonefist Giant
2 x Magma Hound
1 x Warbringer Uranti

Fairly solid Alloyin and Tempys draft deck here. I got lucky with the 3 Flamehsaper Savants and rolled with Tempys fairly hard. Twenty cards were Tempys in this draft. I focused on getting the Flameshapers leveled up and tried to get the Bruiser and Hound leveled as well. The Matrix Warden was good as usual and I had a fairly easy 3-0. Tower Vanguard was a solid player and the usual Sparkblade Assassin, Ionic Warcharger, Stonefist Giant offered several two for one positions.

The List:

1 x Echowisp
1 x Weirwood Patriarch
1 x Shardplate Delver
2 x Gemhide Basher
1 x Bramblewood Guardian
2 x Feral Instinct
1 x Glowstride Stag
1 x Grove Huntress
1 x Enrage
1 x Deepwood Bear Rider
1 x Ether Hounds
1 x Fangwood Ravager
1 x Grimgaunt Devourer
1 x Unrelenting Dead
1 x Blight Walker
1 x Darkshaper Savant
1 x Necrotic Wurm
1 x Necrovive
3 x Grave Ghast
1 x Xithian Hulk
1 x Corpse Crawler
1 x Death Seeker
1 x Gloomreaper Witch
1 x Graveborn Glutton
1 x Vengeful Spirit
1 x Witherfrost Banshee

I won this draft before I even played around getting double legendary pulls. This deck itself isn’t that great but Echowisp was amazing in all three matches. The Savant wasn’t too powerful in this draft having only 15 other cards to help trigger the ability. Timely Devourer plays helped win matches having set the board up for multiple creature deaths with Echowisps and Ether Hounds. This was another relatively easy 3-0 but mostly due to having drafted (and leveled) the legendaries. I can’t complain about doing a draft and getting 3 legendaries, especially since this draft took place on my ‘freebie’ account.

I will be trying to upload video of drafts in the future, but I’m having trouble recording the video and uploading to youtube. i have sound but no picture. Hopefully, I’ll have that ironed out before too long.

Stay tuned!
